WorldWide Wildcats Weekly Email

Oct 12, 2021

You're Halfway There

Many of you will be beginning the fall semester's second round of 8-week classes next week. This is a reminder to check your K-State email and Canvas for information and announcements from your instructors. Enrollment will remain open until the first day of the class. Use our class search to view available offerings.

Scholarships

Students enrolled in a K-State Online bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree program should apply now for spring 2022 scholarships. The deadline to apply is Nov. 1. May the odds be ever in your favor.

Prepare to Enroll

Enrollment opens in a few weeks for the spring 2022 semester. Mark your calendar for your unique enrollment date/time and check for holds to have them removed before enrolling. Use the K-State Online course search to view available options and connect with your academic advisor or major professor early so you're prepared. Tuition will be due by the first day of the spring semester.

Save the Date

If you are expecting to graduate this December, congratulations! Commencement ceremonies will be held Dec. 10 and 11 in Manhattan, Kansas, (or Salina, Kansas, if you're a K-State Salina graduate) and will recognize graduates from the fall 2021 semester. Participating in commencement is encouraged but not required. Please note that if you do plan to come to Manhattan, it is important to make hotel reservations as early as possible. Visit this website for more information to help plan your visit.

Cybersecurity Awareness Month

Cybercriminals are sneaky, and their emails can appear to be from legitimate sources like K-State or the university president. K-State will never ask for your account, personal or financial information via email. If you receive a suspicious email, delete it immediately. Learn more about cybercrimes and test your phishing scam knowledge. Protect personal information. The identity saved could be your own.

Financial Tip

Eating healthy on a budget can be tricky. Check out these Tips for a Healthier Food Budget to assist with your planning. Remember, K-State students can also schedule a free and confidential client session with peer counselors who can help create a budget or review and revise your current food buying strategies.

Tune-In

The K-State LGBT Resource Center and the Division of Intercultural Learning and Academic Success are proud to host the Kansas LGBTQ Virtual Conference on Friday, Oct. 15. The daylong event will feature alumnus and keynote speaker Tori Gleason. Registration for access and the schedule of speakers and presentations can be found at the LGBT Resource Center website.
