Library services are available to students near and far. If you are working on a research paper and have a question about how the library can help, take advantage of their handy ask a librarian chat feature.
Trained peer counselors provide free online financial counseling for current K-State students. That's one nifty, thrifty service.
The K-State Career Center continues to offer Virtual Drop-In Advising via Zoom every Monday-Thursday, noon-4 p.m. CDT. These virtual drop-ins are meant for brief resume/cover letter critiques. Students needing more in-depth support for career documents or a job search are encouraged to schedule a full appointment with a career advisor via Handshake.
Feeling apprehensive about an upcoming paper? The Writing Center can help! They provide feedback at any stage of the writing process to enable students to gain awareness of writing strategies; improve writing assignments or non-academic writing; and increase their sense of competence, confidence, and ownership in writing. Write on.
Have we mentioned tutoring is available? Undergraduate students taking online classes can schedule a tutoring session to be matched with a peer student who has succeeded in the respective course. Tutors are trained to help you understand and learn difficult content. Hurry, though - space is limited!
As a reminder, all K-State students have access to a Student Success Resources Canvas Course. This course was designed to provide students with easy access to key information to support success at Kansas State University. Check out this short video which explains how and why to use the Canvas course.
Sept. 21 is the last day to drop a regular session (aka full-semester) class without a W (aka withdrawal) being recorded on your transcript. At risk of sounding like a broken record, remember to review drop/refund dates for each course individually, as non-standard (aka short) classes have different deadlines. Dropping all of your classes requires you to contact your academic dean's office. Graduate students should email grad@k-state.edu.
September's Community Action Talks (CATs) is focused on free speech. Join the YouTube Live event on Sept. 17, noon-1:30 p.m. CDT. This monthly series will feature presenters, panelists and an opportunity for the community to participate in diversity, inclusion and social justice topics. The sessions will provide participants an opportunity to learn how we can all take action to achieve transformative change for our university, our state and the world.
