WorldWide Wildcats Weekly Email

Mar 15, 2022

You're Halfway There

Many of you will be beginning the spring semester's second round of 8-week classes next week. This is a reminder to check your K-State email and Canvas for information and announcements from your instructors. Enrollment will remain open until the first day of the class. View available options through the KSIS class search. Our apologies if you also now have Livin' on a Prayer stuck in your head. We'll make it, I swear.

Prepare to Enroll

This is a friendly reminder that the first round of summer and fall enrollment starts next week. A little prep work now (i.e. reviewing DARS, selecting classes and connecting with your advisor or major professor) will save a big headache later (i.e. missing out on classes that have filled, potentially causing a delay in graduation and having to wait longer for celebration cake). View your enrollment date and check off those boxes early.

Career Fair

Not the kind with Ferris wheels and funnel cakes, but still exciting if you're entering the job market! The Big 12 Virtual Career Fair will be held March 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. CDT. Students can meet employers live online as they seek to recruit from Big 12 universities. K-State has some of the brightest, so put on your suit jacket and slippers (we won't tell), and get ready to browse the fair!

First Day of Spring

Ah, spring. That time of year when flowers bloom, the grass turns green and temperature fluctuations leave you unable to decide whether or not to bring a jacket. (Spoiler alert: you'll be wrong either way.) Luckily for distance students, studying online means you can take your coursework outside for a change of scenery. Happy spring!

Honor and Integrity System

Kansas State University has an Honor and Integrity System based on personal integrity, which is presumed to be sufficient assurance in academic matters that one's work is performed honestly and without unauthorized assistance. Review student tips and take the honor pledge seriously.

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day

Swap your purple for green and celebrate Irish history and culture this Thursday, March 17. St. Patrick's Day gained its momentum in the U.S. when Irish immigrants and citizens decided to push back against negative stereotypes and show their pride for Ireland. We tip our hats to those 19th-century Irish-Americans who found a way to change hearts and minds through positive celebration.
