WorldWide Wildcats Weekly Email
Sep 21, 2021
Sept. 28 is the last day to drop a regular session (aka full-semester) class without a W (aka withdrawal) being recorded on your transcript. At risk of sounding like a broken record, remember to review drop/refund dates for each course individually, as non-standard (aka short) classes have different deadlines. Dropping all of your classes requires you to contact your academic dean's office. Graduate students should email grad@k-state.edu.
The Academic Achievement Center offers graduate student resources specifically designed with the graduate student in mind. Tip: the backwards mapping plan might just be the most simple, yet helpful, tool you've encountered to date.
Don’t miss out on the all-university career fair this week! The first three days take place on campus, while this Friday will be hosted entirely online through Handshake, making it possible for Wildcats near and far to participate. Polish your resume, put on your professional attire (slippers encouraged, we won't tell) and check out these Handshake tips on attending a virtual career fair.
Did you try restarting it? The IT Help Desk is the first point of contact for all your IT needs, including during the evening and on the weekend.
K-State offers networking and mentoring opportunities with professionals in your field through WildcatLink. Students can browse the public profiles of professionals and reach out for career-related support and advice. The formal mentoring program may be a good fit for students who wish to meet with a professional on a regular basis and have more individualized support. WildcatLink: Connecting K-State students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends beyond the classroom.
Powercat Financial offers free financial counseling for K-State students. Schedule a confidential, online appointment and meet with a trained financial counselor who can provide information about budgeting, student loan planning and repayment, saving, identity theft and more.
Library services are available to students near and far. If you are working on a research paper and have a question about how the library can help, take advantage of their handy ask a librarian chat feature.
