FOCUS 2 combines self-assessment, major and career exploration, and decision-making, while Self-Directed Search ties your personal work preferences with different work environments.

The Job SearchHandshake: Sign up to join Handshake, the Career Center's recruiting and career services platform for K-State students, alumni and employers. This platform allows you to search for full-time jobs and internships (nationally and internationally), post your resume for employers to view and view K-State employer information.

Career Advising Appointments for Distance Learners: K-State's career advisors are available to meet with K-State students free of charge. A career advisor can assist you with your resume and cover letter, and provide guidance on job searches, mock interviews and more.
Follow these steps to set up a Zoom, phone or in-person appointment:
- Log in to Handshake.
- Follow the prompts to activate your Handshake account.
- Select “Career Center” in the top drop-down menu.
- Select “Appointments.”
- Choose “Zoom” or “Phone Appointment” as your appointment medium.
