Personal financial planning is a rapidly growing field and a necessary personal skill in today’s complex financial market. The personal financial planning minor provides students with a cursory overview of the financial planning profession.

At least 9 of the required 15 credit hours must be completed at Kansas State University. Students must achieve a cumulative 2.50 GPA in the five required courses to complete the minor.

Required Courses (6 credit hours):

  • PFP 105 Introduction to Personal Financial Planning Credits (3 credits)
  • PFP 305 Advanced Personal Financial Planning Credits (3 credits)

Elective Courses (9 credit hours):

  • PFP 460 Retirement Planning Concepts Credits (3 credits)
  • PFP 462 Personal Investment Concepts I Credits (3 credits)
  • PFP 464 Estate Planning Concepts Credits (3 credits)
  • PFP 466 Personal Risk Management and Insurance Planning Credits (3 credits)
  • PFP 472 Personal Income Tax Concepts Credits (3 credits)
