Personal Financial Planning Minor

The undergraduate minor in personal financial planning provides an overview of the content needed to prepare for a career as a personal financial advisor for students not enrolled in the personal financial planning major.

With the increased complexity of the financial markets, education centered on personal finance is needed now more than ever. Many professions in the world of finance employ individuals from other disciplines with the expectation that they will understand the personal financial markets. Additionally, this knowledge is valuable on a personal level to anyone who plans to retire someday.

Students from every academic background can benefit from the skills offered through this program, which is known for its longstanding tradition of high achievement.

Accreditation

Kansas State University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

The personal financial planning minor is offered through the School of Family Studies and Human Services in the K-State College of Human Ecology.
