English as a Second Language

The English as a second language area of specialization for the Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction is open to licensed teachers, and all course work is available online. The program is also available as an add-on endorsement in Kansas.

This is a nationally recognized program for educators seeking to increase their knowledge and learn new strategies for working with culturally and linguistically diverse students, and to assist students in continuing to make academic progress while they learn the English language. The program has been developed for teachers at all grade levels and content areas.

The ESL program creates an opportunity to excel when working with specialized student populations, while striving to meet federal and state educational mandates.
