- Facilitates the development and management of distance courses and programs for the Colleges of Health and Human Sciences and Architecture Planning and Design.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to enhance curricular structure for existing distance programs and to discover new areas for programming.
- Coordinates programs in Early Childhood Education, Dietetics, Nutrition and Health, Personal Financial Planning, Gerontology, Family and Community Services, Merchandising, Youth Development, Conflict Resolution, and Community Development.
Janice Nikkel facilitates distance education programs consisting of bachelor’s degree programs, master degree programs, a PhD program, five certificate programs, and a minor program. She serves as the Global Campus liaison to the Graduate School and is a representative on the Graduate School Council. Janice also serves on the Kansas Insurance Education Foundation Academic Advisory Council for the Kansas Insurance Certificate.
Janice has been with Global Campus since graduating from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in 1985. She has been active in the Wabaunsee county 4-H program serving as a volunteer and project leader. She also served two six-year stints on the Wabaunsee county Extension Council serving multiple terms as president. While daughter Taylor was in high school, Janice served as a member of the leadership team for the Wabaunsee High School Booster Club. For over ten years she volunteered in her community as a youth volleyball, basketball, and softball coach for her daughter’s teams. She also served on the Wabaunsee County Relay for Life team. Janice and her husband, Mark, along with daughter, Taylor, operate a ranch near Maple Hill, Kansas.
