- Coordinator for Community Resource Act (CRA) – UFM's State Outreach Program and K-State Global Campus/UFM's Recreational Credit Classes at K-State.
Charlene Brownson has been coordinating educational programs at UFM Community Learning Center since 1995. Her primary responsibilities are administration and management for the Recreational, Dance, and Fitness Credit Program at K-State. Activities include recruiting instructors, communicating and coordinating with departments and instructors for credit course creations, and technology work with enrollments and class data in EIS and KSIS along with managing the financial aspects for the program.
Charlene is also the coordinator for the KU Osher Institute for Lifelong Learning programs in Manhattan, which is a K-State/KU/UFM collaboration. Her responsibilities include recruiting instructors and all aspects of organizing and hosting the classes and special events.
Charlene has a Master of Science in Adult and Continuing Education from K-State and a Bachelor of Arts in Art Education from University of Northern Colorado.
Charlene serves on several university and community committees and boards. She enjoys learning about history and is active with community organizations including Riley County Genealogical Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Daughters of the American Colonist. She is a 5th generation Kansan; Charlene has three children, three grandchildren, and many other family members who live in Manhattan including a twin sister.
