WorldWide Wildcats Weekly Email
Jan 18, 2022
Welcome all new and returning K-State Online students to the official first week of the spring 2022 semester. Note to self: you've got this! Fill up your coffee cup, because every Tuesday for the next 16 weeks, we'll be delivering you need-to-know information just for distance students — aka the WorldWide Wildcats.
It's not too late! You have until Jan. 24 to enroll in additional courses that began Jan. 18. After that date, instructor permission is required. View the spring 2022 course schedule to find available options.
Let's face it, life is easier when there's an app for that. To break it down, there are three must-have apps for K-State Online students: Outlook (iOS or Android) to access your calendar and email from your phone; Navigate Student (iOS or Android) to schedule appointments, access student resources, stay on track for graduation and more; and Canvas (iOS or Android) to access coursework, due dates, grades and more.
All K-State students have access to a Student Success Resources Canvas course. This course was designed to provide students with easy access to key information to support success at Kansas State University. Check out this short video that explains how and why to use the Canvas course.
Some online courses may require an exam proctor. Q: What's a proctor? A: A person who monitors students during an exam. If a proctor is needed, you will receive a reminder email from our office near the start of the semester. Our website provides more information on proctoring services because we're helpful like that.
Student ID cards are available to K-State Online students via postal mail. A digital color copy of a government-issued photo ID and photo are required. ID cards are $25 (+ $1.50 postage). Apply for the Global Campus Wildcat ID. If you live within a 50-mile radius of Manhattan, you're asked to visit the ID Center in the Student Union to obtain your student ID. Use it as an excuse to visit campus! Treat yourself with a scoop or three of Call Hall ice cream while you're at it.
