WorldWide Wildcats Weekly Email
October 27, 2020
K-State Online works diligently to create informational, timely blurbs that keep our students in the know. When you see this email in your inbox each Tuesday morning, titled "WorldWide Wildcats," please know it's for you! We ask that you take a minute (literally) to glance through it. You will be pleasantly surprised and, not to toot our own horn, probably even super grateful that you did.
This is a friendly reminder that the first round of enrollment starts next week. A little prep work now (i.e. reviewing DARS, selecting classes and connecting with your advisor or major professor) will save a big headache later (i.e. missing out on classes that have filled, potentially causing a delay in graduation and having to wait longer for celebration cake). That escalated quickly. View your enrollment date and check off these boxes early.
Eating healthy on a budget can be tricky. Check out these Tips for a Healthier Food Budget and resources to assist with your planning. Remember, K-State students can also schedule a free and confidential client session with peer counselors who can help create a budget or review and revise your current food buying strategies.
The What Matters to Me and Why lectures series supports K-State's Principles of Community by encouraging reflection on matters of personal values, beliefs and motivations in order to better understand the lives and inspirations of those who serve and shape the university. Ellyn R. Mulcahy, Ph.D., MPH, director of the Master of Public Health Program and associate professor, Diagnostic Medicine and Pathobiology, presents Noon-1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29. RSVP by Oct. 28 for the Zoom link.
The online Master of Accountancy provides you with a greater breadth and depth in accounting than is possible in an undergraduate program. Accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and certified by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), this master’s program qualifies you to sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam and was designed to cover a variety of cutting-edge topics, such as accounting analytics, financial statement analysis, business valuation and international and multijurisdictional taxation.
Find out what your Halloween celebrations say about you in this super official quiz that we made up.
- If you separate your candy into categories while eating, you're an organizer.
- If you plan the most efficient route and the best houses for trick-or-treating in order to get the most candy, you're a maximizer.
- If you love to watch horror movies and jump out of bushes to scare people (even children), you're a risk taker.
- If you spend all year thinking up new costumes and decorations to top the neighbors, you're an idea person.
