Apply for Graduate

Yes, you actually have to apply to graduate. For some reason, universities require students to apply to get in and apply to get out. So if you're in your last semester, be sure to apply for spring graduation. Undergraduate students: direct any questions about graduation to your academic advisor. Graduate students: view the graduation and commencement deadline calendar and contact the K-State Graduate School at 785-532-6191 or grad@k-state.edu with any questions.

Financial Tip

If you hate free money, keep scrolling. Love free money but don't think you'll qualify for grants or scholarships? Or maybe you want to learn more about them before you take the time to apply? This blog post explains the difference between the two types of free money and addresses common misconceptions about scholarships (hint: you can't win if you don't play).

Last Day for 50% Refund

Feb. 17 is the last day to drop a regular session (aka full-semester) class for a 50% refund. Just to make things interesting, non-standard (aka short) courses have their own unique drop/refund dates and follow these deadlines. Dropping all of your classes requires you to contact your academic dean's office. Graduate students should email grad@k-state.edu.

Student ID Cards

Student ID cards are available to K-State Global Campus students via postal mail. A digital color copy of a government-issued photo ID and photo are required. New cards are $18 and replacement cards are $20. The cost will be applied to your KSIS account. Apply for the distance learning Wildcat ID. Live in the Kansas City area? Visit K-State Olathe on Feb. 13 from 12:30-5:30 p.m. to get one during their Wildcat ID walk-in event.

Education Abroad

Discover the world and discover yourself with Education Abroad. Global Campus students are welcome to enroll in study abroad opportunities. Get started on the Education Abroad website (note Feb. 15 and March 15 are two important upcoming deadlines) or contact them at 785-532-5990 or overseas@k-state.edu. We're also pretty sure that if you visit a country for longer than a week, you get to say you lived there.

Happy Valentine's Day

The true origin of Valentine's Day is murky, but one thing is clear - eating chocolate while studying improves focus. Whether you're struck by cupid or dodging the arrow, we hope you have a sweet Valentine's Day.
