*Due to nationwide funding limitations, budget allocations are increasingly geared toward bridge preservation, bridge rehabilitation, and sustainable repairs. This workshop will first review the latest developments in bridge design practice and LRFD, and provide information about available resources from AASHTO/HHWA and KDOT including design examples. Then the workshop will address the different aspects of bridge rehabilitation including practical cases and lessons learned. Topics will include steel bridge repairs, fatigue retrofit, bridge widening/concrete deck replacement, bridge rail replacement, and expansion joints/bearing devices. Presentations will be made by bridge & transportation officials as well as persons involved in bridge design, construction, and inspection. Be sure not to miss this workshop on October8,2004 at the K-State student union, Manhattan, Kansas.
