Summer Session

On-campus summer classes and workshops, held two weeks each summer for two years at the K-State campus, are a major component of the program.  The time spent on campus is invaluable in that it breaks the isolation that can be common found with online learning programs and creates a “cohort-like” atmosphere for students.

These sessions provide valuable hands-on training and mentoring that will propel the student forward in their academic understanding and separate them from others in the industry. Sessions usually run from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. with lectures, hands-on exposure to the distance learning technology, computer laboratory project work, presentation delivery and participation in industrial/organizational psychology seminars. By the end of your stay you will be well on your way to completing your first 6 credit hours and will have made connections and friendships that will last a lifetime.

On-Campus Costs

There are additional expenses associated with the two-week On-Campus component of the program, including travel, food, lodging, etc. Students are responsible for coordinating their own travel to and from Manhattan for the summer session. There are two meals provided for the students while on campus: the welcome/orientation dinner on the beginning Sunday, and the farewell picnic on the final Thursday. There are also snacks provided throughout each day of class. However, all other meals are the responsibility of the student. Students are also responsible for reserving their own lodging for their stay. Quality options for lodging are listed below.

K-State Residence Hall Guest Housing

Residence hall housing is available as a low-cost, no-frills option. For information and rates of summer guest housing as well as online registration, please visit http://housing.k-state.edu/guest-housing/guest/index.html.
