Bakery Science Minor

The minor in bakery science is offered online and provides a knowledge base in bakery science that will give students an advantage in the competitive world of agriculture. The program provides students with a basic background in bakery science, including the functionality of ingredients in baked goods and the characteristics of cereal grains.

This 17-credit-hour program is open to Kansas State University students as well as students pursuing degrees in related programs at other accredited four-year institutions. Industry professionals interested in a concentration in bakery science can also pursue the minor through K-State.

Careers in Agriculture

The bakery science minor will prepare students for careers in grain science, including:

  • product development
  • technical sales
  • production management
  • quality assurance
  • ingredient/equipment sales
  • retail ownership 

Accreditation

Kansas State University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

The bakery science minor is offered through the Department of Grain Science and Industry in the College of Agriculture.
