Water Rights Stakeholders, Researchers Attend Ogallala Aquifer Project Conference

March 14, 2012

Efforts to research and conserve the Ogallala Aquifer, a vast but shallow underground water table located beneath the Great Plains, was the focus of a two-day conference March 13-14, Garden City, Kan.

The Ogallala Aquifer Program, a project funded by the United States Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service (USDA-ARS), provides permanent funding for many research projects on water conservation for the Ogallala Aquifer through a consortium between USDA-ARS, Kansas State University, Texas A&M University, Texas Tech University and West Texas A&M University.
