Assist faculty in the design of online coursework and instructional practices. Provide resources in quality online teaching practices.
Review online courses utilizing the K-State Rubric for Quality E-Learning.
- Maintain close working relationships with the K-State community including faculty, K-State Global Campus Coordinators and other campus offices to support online educational programs.
Laura Widenor serves as the Quality Coordinator in the Kansas State University Global Campus. Her primary responsibilities include assisting faculty in the design of online coursework, course reviews, and providing resources for best practices in online teaching. Laura serves on the Quality Advisory and E-Learning teams and is a member of the K-State Global Campus awards committee.
Laura was the Faculty Services Coordinator for K-State Global Campus for 4 years. Prior to joining K-State Global Campus, Laura acquired several years teaching experience with the Vallivue School District in Idaho. She also held a variety of administrative positions here at KSU during her first opportunity to be a part of the K-State family.
Laura holds a Master’s degree in Elementary Education, which she received through a hybrid online and on-campus program from University of Phoenix-Boise. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Psychology from the University of California-Davis. She has completed several certificates in online education through the Online Learning Consortium. She is very active in triathlon and running events, and she enjoys reading and crafting. Laura and her husband, George Widenor, have two teenage sons.
