- Supervises conference registration office and provides oversight for registration processes.
- Coordinates conferences and other noncredit offerings for the K-State College of Agriculture, K-State Research and Extension, and external partners.
- Oversees marketing and promotion campaigns for the Conferences and Noncredit Programs unit.
Debbie Hagenmaier serves as assistant director in the Conferences and Noncredit Programs unit in the Kansas State University Global Campus. Her primary responsibilities include supervision of the conference registration office, oversight of unit marketing and promotion campaigns, and coordination of conferences for the College of Agriculture, K-State Research and Extension, and external clients.
She was hired in 2001 as a program assistant for distance education programs and conferences for the College of Education. In 2003 she was promoted to program coordinator, where her primary assignment was conference coordination for the College of Agriculture and K-State Research and Extension. She also chaired the marketing review committee and served on the Cornerstone Marketing group for Global Campus. She was promoted to assistant director in 2012
Debbie is a member of the University Professional and Continuing Education Association. She has held various offices at the regional level, including regional chair in 2013-2014. In 2014 she received the John L. Christopher Outstanding Leadership Award from the UPCEA Central Region. She is also a member of the Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors International.
Prior to joining K-State Global Campus, Debbie was a graduate assistant in the Huck Boyd National Center for Community Media at KSU. She has also worked as a communications specialist for the Blue Valley-Randolph school district, parish coordinator for a local church, communications specialist for the Kansas Farm Bureau, and news editor for the Clay Center Dispatch daily newspaper.
Debbie holds a bachelor of science degree in journalism and mass communications from K-State. She has been active as a 4-H volunteer and leader and has served on the Riley County Fair Board and the Riley County 4-H Foundation Board. She has also been active in her church, serving as council president for several years. Debbie is a 2011 graduate of the Leadership Manhattan program and is a member of the Coffman Leadership Institute class of 2016.
She and her husband Mike, also a K-State graduate, live on the family farm in northern Riley County. Mike is president of the Riley State Bank and is engaged in farming. They have four sons: Joshua, Matthew, Jordan and Jacob. All are K-State alumni.
